For those looking for a quiet place to stay near Kata beach that isn't too pricey Dome Resort Phuket is a good choice. It's right behind the Club Med and about five minutes from Kata's gorgeous beach but isn't surrounded by bars, restaurants or much of anything really. The small resort is set around a lake, though there is no swimming pool and no real view of the beauty of Kata. This is a great option if you want some of the public space a traditional resort offers without the expense. Rooms are a little aged but airy and clean.
