Bophut Beach on Samui, with its charming fishing village and laid back atmosphere, offers visitors a more relaxed side of Thailand's second most popular island. Though the beach is home to more and more boutique hotels, there are still a few great cheap hotels on Bophut.
Maya Buri Resort and Spa

Although this small, well-kept hotel is technically in Bophut, it's only a fifteen minute walk to Big Buddha Beach, though it's not on either beach. In fact, it's the less than prime location off the beach that makes the Maya Buri such a bargain. Rooms, decorated with teak furnishings and facilities, including a swimming pool, are substantially nicer than what you'll find closer to the beach.

Cocooning Hotel Samui

This small hotel a short walk from the beach has some very charming rooms, a small swimming pool and even a tapas bar. Those looking for a big party at night might find it a little quiet, but if you’re looking to relax and don’t need to have all the amenities, or expenses, of a full-service resort it’s a great choice.

L'Hacienda Samui

Despite the somewhat misplaced name, L'Hacienda is actually spot on for those who want a little style and comfort but are still on a budget. The location, in the fishing village, and the uncharacteristically charming decor for the price, plus a decent-sized roof top swimming pool, make it a gem of a cheap hotel on Samui.
