On of Thailand's most fun and exotic festivals is the elephant roundup, a weekend-long event where nearly 100 elephants and their trainers come together for an amazing performance! The event includes elephant soccer, choreographed elephant performances and reenactments of historical battles. During the festival there are also scores of elephants in Surin's streets. You can ride them, pet them, feed them or just gawk. If you love elephants and want to see them up close, don't miss this event!
The annual elephant roundup takes place over one weekend ever year in November. Check the Tourism Authority Website for specific dates each year.
The event takes place in Surin, Isan, Thailand's agricultural region.
Admission to the actual event is $15 to $35.
