Bangkok's Riverside Attractions

Though the Chao Phraya River is not in the center of the city (it defines Bangkok's western boundary), it is home to some of the best attractions and some fun shopping, too. Check out these activities along Bangkok's Chao Phraya but also keep in mind that perhaps the river's most fun and interesting activities are free and easy -- just pick a spot anywhere on the river bank and sit back and watch life float by. You'll see commuters going to and from work, old barges transporting goods up and down the river (you may just get a glimpse of the people who make these barges their homes, too) and tourists zipping around on colorful longtail boats.
